University of Central Arkansas

The University of Central Arkansas offers graduate and undergraduate credit for courses available on the HEP Network. Tuition will vary depending on the year enrolled in the course. For information on the current cost of a three hour course, visit the UCA website www.uca.edu as a “future student” and view current graduate or undergraduate tuition rates.

A graduate student who wishes to take courses without entering the graduate degree program will enroll as a non-degree seeking student in graduate studies through the University of Central AR and will be considered an open learning student. Open learning students may begin at anytime but are not eligible for financial aid. Courses must be completed within six months of enrollment.

A graduate student who is seeking a Master of Science degree in Health Sciences will apply for admission to the graduate degree program in Health Sciences. Most classes will be taken with other graduate students in a semester-based class and are eligible for financial aid.

An undergraduate student who is taking courses from the HEP network will enroll in classes on a semester basis. No open-learning undergraduate courses are available.

To enroll in a health education course, please follow the directions listed below:

  • Graduate Students will complete the “Application for Admission to Graduate Study for U.S. Students” (unless this has already been completed) available through UCA Graduate Studies with a $25.00 check submitted by mail or calling the graduate office at 501-450-3124 with a credit card number. Official sealed transcripts must be sent to the Graduate Office. When the application is complete, the Graduate office will notify Academic Outreach and Extended Programs (AOEP).
  • Undergraduate students who are not currently admitted to UCA will complete all the admission forms for a non-degree seeking student as requested by the University and located on the UCA website under “Future Students”. Students who are already admitted to the university will contact their advisor about the course(s) they plan to take through the HEP Network. Once the advisor approves and releases the student through Banner for enrollment, the student may sign up for the class through AOEP.

  • Submit the completed "Enrollment Form for the Health Education Promotion Network" to AOEP. The form may be e-mailed to the credit administrative assistant at credit@uca.edu or faxed to AOEP at 501- 450-5277. Once enrolled, students will receive a confirmation of enrollment in an e-mail from AOEP.
  • Contact UCA Student Accounts to pay for the course within one week of receiving the confirmation of enrollment in the course at 501-450-5015.

  • The HEP Network will send each student an e-mail confirmation of enrollment with a log-in and password for accessing the course. You will also be given the name and contact information for your course instructor.
